The man killed by a train in a suspected suicide at Petts Wood station on Saturday was from Orpington.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the scene at around 11.30am, of West Approach, but the 23-year-old was pronounced dead shortly after.

British Transport Police have confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious, and that the man’s family have been informed. An inquest into the incident is set for Thursday.

Ambulance crews treated two patients for shock at Petts Wood station, but neither required further treatment.

The train involved was the 9.35am Minster to Charring Cross. There were delays of up to 50 minutes on the line until around 6pm on Saturday.
