A pair of teenagers who allegedly abandoned a stolen car to avoid officers were arrested on Saturday morning after they ran straight into Bromley police station.

The car had been stolen from a Petts Wood address earlier that night and was spotted by officers driving in Mottingham.

The drivers failed to stop for police and were pursued to Bromley - where they turned into a dead-end slip road close to the station.

In an attempt to evade officers, the occupants ran into the station where they were arrested.

A 17-year-old, from Mottingham, and a 14-year-old, from Lewisham, have been charged with theft of a motor vehicle and various driving offences.

They will appear at Bromley Youth Court on December 4.
