A Penge based animal trainer has added a small and unusual owl to his collection that he hopes will soon be upto Olympic speed to educate youngsters.

Martin Southcombe is hand rearing three-week-old Dobby the Burrowing owl at his home and has added him to his impressive roster of creatures for his businesses Celebrity Reptiles.

Supplying insects, spiders and birds for movies, as well as educational visits, Martin is hoping the grounded bird’s speed will show how these animals hunt in the wild.

He said: “These speedy little runners are such beauties that we had to add Dobby to our collection.”
