The suspect attacked him through the open cab window

Police have released CCTV of a serious assault in which a Bromley bus driver was knifed in the eye.

The man, who was with another man, a child and a dog, attacked the 41-year-old driver after stepping out in front of the 227 bus in Penge High Street, causing the driver to brake.

When the driver rebuked him. he kicked out at the doors of the bus as it passed, then ran after it and stabbed the driver with a Stanley knife through the open cab window at a red light.

He then ran off towards Cottingham Road.

The suspect is black, in his early 20s and has Afro hair. He was wearing a bright blue tracksuit.

The attack took place on June 30, 2014 at about 5pm, but police have only just released the footage.
