Peace campaigners in Bromley are inviting people from across the borough to join them to mark Remembrance Sunday.

The campaigners will be marking the day - which remembers servicemen and women who have died in wars - with a ceremony that they say emphasises the futility of bombing and wars. The group have been wearing white poppies, rather than the traditional red ones, and marking the day with their own remembrance event since 1985.

Participants in the march will walk in silence to the Cenotaph where they will recite poems and remember the civilian victims of wars from across the globe. the group say that anyone who wants to join in is welcome to do so on November 8. The meeting point for the group is next to Primark on Church Road, Bromley.
