A FIVE-YEAR-OLD drama pupil was handpicked from 3,500 children to take part in a circus show as a reward for outstanding efforts over the last year.

Patrick Hughes, who attends Perform drama school at St George C of E School in Tylney Road, Bromley, every Friday, performed at a Zippo's circus show in Peckham last month.

He learnt circus skills and tricks from Pepito the Clown in the Big Top.

Thousands of children a week attend Perform dance, drama and singing workshops across London and the South-east. Principal Lucy Quick asked teachers to select 10 children to take part in the circus event, to say well done for their contributions to the weekly classes.
