A PENSIONER who sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl and a 13-year-old boy has been spared jail.

Brian Foster, 65, of Seymour Drive, Bromley, received a two year suspended sentence and was placed on the sex offenders' register at Croydon Crown Court last Friday

He was also ordered to attend a sex offender's programme, pay £2,600 costs and attend a alcohol treatment programme.

The unrelated children, whose parents were family friends of Foster, visited his home to play a game of tennis in June 2006.

While playing, Foster stroked the boy's groin area through his clothing, touching his genitals and he refused to stop even when the boy protested.

He later made the girl sit on his lap and touched her vagina through her clothing, after which the children left his house.

When he was arrested on June 9, Foster denied assaulting the youngsters but was later charged with four counts of sexual abuse.
