Staff at an Orpington nursery celebrated on Friday as its owners were placed eighth in a Sunday Times list of the best 100 companies to work for.

Brinds Well Day Nursery, in Hawstead Lane, is owned by The Childbase Partnership, which has risen 82 places up the list over the past four years.

Elaine Berry, Brinds Well manager, said: “It is a very personal achievement because we are part of an employee-owned company where what we say really does make a difference.

“Ofsted inspectors have told us repeatedly that a happy and engaged staff team equals happy children.

“Our pride in our nursery and our company is reflected in our happy and confident children and there is nothing more rewarding or satisfying than that.”
