A £1,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of Precious the parrot, who flew out of his owner’s window in Orpington last week.

Owner Jan Thomas, of Crescent Way, hasn’t seen the 22-year-old Blue Fronted Amazonian since he escaped from her home and says she is “devastated”.

She added: “He is the whole of my life. I can’t put a money value on him.

“He has never escaped before, although his is a very good flier. He could be anywhere by now.”

Precious is slightly larger than a pigeon, with a blue patch above his beak and a mixture of green and yellow feathers.

If you’ve seen him, call 020 8477 3835, or email joshua.fowler@archant.co.uk.
