Two jailed this week
A phone store in Orpington was targeted by an organised criminal network which stole mobile phones worth more than £45,000 from shops across London.
Silver Baboi and Vasile Mihai worked as part of a team who distracted staff and blocked their view while display phones were stolen.
The gang targeted 34 stores, including Three in Orpington, between February 2013 and January this year.
Baboi, 23, stole a Samsung Galaxy from the High Street store on June 15 last year.
However, the gang were identified from CCTV footage and Baboi, of Thornton Heath, Croydon, and Mihai, 21, of Northborough Road, Streatham, were both jailed for 24 weeks on Monday. They had previously admitted conspiracy to steal at Croydon Crown Court.
A third man, aged 28, also admitted conspiracy to steal and is to be sentenced on September 1.
A 19-year-old man was also arrested and released on police bail until next month. A 21-year-old man, who failed to appear on police bail on July 7, is wanted by police.
