An Orpington schoolgirl could soon see her Christmas design on parcels across the country as part of the Royal Mail’s 2013 festive stamp collection.

Six-year-old Molly-May Mooney-Clarke entered the Royal Mail’s children’s Christmas Stamp Design competition, and has been selected as one of 10 budding artists shortlisted in the capital.

The pupil at St James RC Primary School, in Maybury Close, Petts Wood, has already won £100 in vouchers, and £100 for her school, after beating off competition from around 240,000 other entries from children aged between four and 11.

She is one of 140 shortlisted across the UK, and her work will now come under the expert eye of local judges - who will select their top two entries from each region.

The two eventual winners will be selected by Prince Charles and will be on sale from November 5.
