A £4million hotel soon to open in Orpington has brought sixteen people out of long-term unemployment, as it creates new jobs in the town.
The 61-bedroom hotel, close to the Walnuts Shopping Centre, has created 28 jobs in the local area.
One team member has been enrolled as an apprentice, while seven recruits are aged between 16 and 24.
Holly Flann, operations manager for Premier Inn Orpington, said: “I’m delighted to open the very latest Premier Inn hotel right here in Orpington. We are already getting closely involved with the community in our new home and arranging fundraising events to help raise £1,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
“It’s really positive to see sixteen employees recruited with the valuable support of the local Job Centre and every one of our team is excited to give guests the best stay possible in Orpington. “
