It follows a one-off special earlier this year
The BBC’s sitcom revival is set to continue, after the broadcaster commissioned a full series of Porridge to return to our screens.
Earlier this year, a one-off special saw Kevin Bishop follow on from Ronnie Barker’s role as Norman Stanley Fletcher.
Bishop, who grew up in Orpington, brought the series back to our screens, playing Nigel ‘Fletch’ Fletcher, who is in Wakeley Prison for a series of cyber crimes.
The former Ravenswood schoolboy has starred in films and TV, including the Keith Lemon: The Film and Muppet Treasure Island.
“I never thought it would go further than just the one-off homage” said Bishop.
“To be welcomed back by Porridge fans and the BBC to make a full series is one of the proudest moments in my career.”
