An Orpington retirement home is inviting residents for coffee and cakes as part of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign.

Visitors to Atkins Lodge on High Street will be treated to coffee, cakes and biscuits in the Owners’ Lounge, and Churchill Retirement Living will donate £5 to Macmillan for everyone who attends.

Churchill has a special relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and has raised more than £280,000 for the charity since 2009.

Anne Scherrer, regional marketing manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “We are delighted to be involved in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning once again and are looking forward to welcoming as many locals as possible to the Lodge.

“These events are a fantastic way to raise money for a very worthy cause, and we have set an ambitious fundraising target of £30,000 for Macmillan this year.”

The coffee morning will be held on Thursday, September 29 from 11am at Atkins Lodge, High Street.
