The Post Office has decided to ahead with plans to move its branch in Orpington High Street.
The branch will move from its existing building, down the road into a WH Smith branch.
General manager for the Post Office’s Crown branch network, Roger Gale, claims the closure will keep the branch ‘commercially viable’.
“Our customers’ needs continue to change and we are responding to that, taking the right action to sustain our service for years to come.”
A six-week consultation on the move had taken place.
The Crown branch will close on February 16.
Once it moves 35 metres down the road, residents will be able to use the same range of services through five serving positions and two self-service kiosks.
