An Orpington primary school took one step towards representing the borough in netball at the London Youth Games as they were victorious in the east Bromley qualifiers.

Highway Primary in The Highway saw off Farnborough Primary in the final by 2-0 and will now face the winners of the west Bromley stage on March 4.

Crystal Palace National Sports Centre will host the winners of the borough-wide play-offs, who will represent Bromley at the Youth Games on March 26.

About 130 youngsters competed for the east Bromley crown, with 14 primary schools being watched by England and Surrey Storm netball star Tamsin Greenway.

Head of PE at The Highway, Stephen Cole, said: “I’m just so proud of their achievements so far, and everything they’ve done has represented The Highway in the best way possible.”
