Orpington man charged and another arrested after 100kg cannabis bust

10 people were arrested in London and Northumbria

Two men, one from Bromley and one from Orpington, have been arrested on drug offences, after Met Police seized around 100kg of cannabis in arrests stretching to Northumbria.

Nine men and one woman were arrested on Monday, as part of an ongoing police investigation.

54-year-old Lee Birks of Leesons Way, Orpington has been charged with conspiracy to supply controlled drugs.

During the searches, around £40,000 in cash was also seized from an address in South Shields.

A 41-year-old Bromley man was also arrested and bailed until March pending further enquiries.
