An Orpington gym has scooped a gong at a prestigious fitness industry awards ceremony.
Elite Gym was crowned Strength Training Gym of the Year at the National Fitness Awards - now in its sixth year - in Leicester.
The club went through a rigorous assessment process, which involved being visited by a guest who explored the facility, chatted to members and staff and examined all areas of the business from member retention to customer service.
Reports were then passed on to an expert judging panel, which decided the winners in each category from a shortlist of up to seven finalists.
The independent panel of judges said: “Elite Gym have shown above and beyond why they should indeed be the winner. The size of the gym and quality of equipment goes without saying. They dominate.”
National Fitness Awards’ director Judith Halkerston added: “Congratulations to all our winners – it was great to see so many gyms and other industry professionals sharing in the celebrations.
“We’re the country’s biggest, free-to-enter fitness awards and we’re proud that we can recognise and reward all that is good about our industry and recognise excellence, innovation and hard work that goes on in facilities, large and small, every day.”
Awards were handed out in over 20 categories at a glittering ceremony at The Athena in Leicester, attended by 850 people and hosted by Katie Bulmer-Cooke and Olympic swimming medallist Steve Parry.
