Orpington businesses supporting £1million town centre investment

More than £1million could be spent on improving Orpington Town Centre by 2018 if traders support the creation of a business improvement district (BID) this month.

If successful, the campaign will be funded by an annual levy of 1.5 per cent of the rateable value on eligible businesses.

Gary Morris, chair of Orpington 1st BID, said: “Its sole purpose will be to improve the quality of our town and to bring more people to it.”
