A GRANDMOTHER who couldn't smell for more than a decade because of a blocked nose has undergone life-changing treatment which has given her a good night's sleep for the first time.
Jacqui Piner's life was a misery because of enlarged turbinates, small fleshy ridges in the nasal passage which caused blockages.
It meant she always woke up with a dry mouth and could never sleep the night through.
But the 61-year-old sales advisor from Bromley heard about laser treatment from a friend of a friend and underwent a procedure at The Private Clinic in Harley Street.
She said: "It was always blocked up. I could hear myself snoring. My nose was always runny but I could never properly blow it. It was boring. You get so sick of it - it really got on my nerves.
"I never got a good night's sleep. The day after I had the operation was the first time I slept through the night. I was always tired before."
She added: "It was actually pretty painless. I'm a wimp and didn't even need any painkillers. The worst bit was the numbing spray because it tastes awful. I had a little bit of a nose-bleed but nothing major. I got my sense of smell back too. I would recommend it to anybody"
