A LUXURY car slipped head on into a duck pond after an accident.

The Maserati Quattroporte was clipped by a white van in Loop Road, Chislehurst, last Sunday morning and ended up in the 3ft deep Prickend Pond.

Police said the white van failed to stop and the driver of the £89,000 Maserati tried to brake on the slope but the weather had caused the grass to be slippery.

The male driver was unhurt in the accident and managed to get out of the car to call a recovery vehicle.

A spokesman for Bromley Police said: "The Maserati was hit by a white van that failed to stop at about 7.18am. The driver was able to free himself and called for assistance independently. No-one was injured in the incident."
