Olympian Steve Backley visited Bromley College students to deliver an inspirational talk last week.

The three-time Olympic javelin medal winner was joined by friend Danny Lavender, who suffers with Parkinson’s disease and spoke to the psychology students about his every day struggles.

Bromley resident Steve, who now mentors and speaks professionally, also handed out editions of his new book The Champion In All Of Us to the Orpington campus students.

He said: “It was a pleasure to present to a really receptive audience. The teenagers seemed to relate to the insights as a framework for success.”

“My intention was to offer the students some useful, practical advice as they embark on their performance journey towards success in whatever path they choose.”
