AN 86-YEAR-OLD woman escaped with minor injuries when she flipped her car on its roof after colliding with a parked car.

The elderly driver of the silver Toyota Yaris reportedly collided with a parked black BMW in Page Heath Lane, Bromley.

Her car spun out of control and flipped on to its roof but the driver was not seriously hurt during the smash at about 4pm last Friday.

Dave Yeates, who cycled past the scene soon after the incident, said: "I was cycling along the road with my two lads and the road was cut off because of the accident.

"A policeman told me that the elderly driver had collided with the parked car, the wheel went up and she flipped over."

The driver was taken by ambulance to Queen Mary's Hospital, Sidcup, but she was later released.

The road was closed as emergency services worked to clear the wreckage.

A spokesperson for Bromley police said it is investigating the cause of the crash.
