The fundraiser will be held on June 19

The NSPCC is hosting a fundraiser at The Gherkin in London later this year, to help raise funds for the children’s charity.

The Gherkin Challenge is asking the public to run up the landmark’s 38 floors, and help raise funds to prevent child abuse.

On June 19, participants will be invited to take on the challenge, alternatively people can purchase a “Champagne Lift Pass” at £50, or £80 for two.

The entry fee is £20 per adult, £10 per child or £70 for a team of four with a sponsorship target of £200 per person.

£200 could help answer 50 calls to Childline.

Victoria Kellaway form the charity, said: “The Gherkin Challenge is the perfect opportunity to challenge yourself as you ascend to the top either on your own, or alongside family and friends as part of a team. However you choose to do it, every step will make a difference for vulnerable children across the UK.

“On average a child contacts ChildLine every 25 seconds. With this in mind, we’ve set a target of raising £200 sponsorship for taking on The Gherkin Challenge which will help pay for 50 children to get the support they need.”
