Police will taking no further action over a fox attack on a five-week-old baby.

Dennie Dolan had his finger severed in the incident in Downham on February 6. Surgeons managed to re-attach it and he is now recovering at home.

Police were called the same day to St Thomas’ Hospital to reports of a baby boy admitted after being attacked at his home.

They attended and following an investigation they said today that they are now satisfied there were no criminal offences.

His mother Hayley Cawley told reporters how she had to drag her son from the fox’s mouth.

The incident has sparked debate over whether there should be a fox cull in the capital.
