A DISPERSAL zone was launched by police on Monday in a bid to crack down on anti-social behaviour.

The zone will be operating in Crystal Palace until February 21 enabling officers to disperse groups deemed to be anti-social.

Groups of youths under the age of 16 will not be allowed in the area from 9pm to 6am and officers can disperse groups for up to 24 hours.

Those contravening the orders can be fined up to £2,500 or imprisoned for up to three months under the Anti-Social Behaviour Act 2003.
