Nightstalker’ accused in court

THE alleged Night Stalker has appeared in court accused of raping and sexually assaulting eight elderly women over 17 years.

Delroy Grant, 52, of Brockley Mews, Brockley, is accused of carrying out the sex attacks after breaking into his victims homes.

In total he faces 22 charges relating to offences across south London between 1992 and 2009, including attacks in Orpington, Bromley and Beckenham.

Grant was expected to enter pleas when he appeared at Inner London Crown court last Friday but for legal reasons, the hearing was provisionally adjourned until June 10.

Dressed smartly in a dark pinstripe suit, white shirt, and dark red spotted tie, the greying, well spoken defendant confirmed only his name. He is charged with five counts of rape, six counts of indecent assault, 10 burglaries, and one burglary with intent to rape.
