New borough commander appointed in Bromley

Bromley’s new deputy borough commander has been appointed.

Supt Parm Sandhu will take on the role.

She joined Bromley borough in September as the deputy borough commander with responsibilities for the borough’s operational policing, criminal investigations and partnerships.

Ms Sandhu is currently one of the highest-ranking Asian women in policing in the UK.

Throughout her career Parm has won a number of awards including; National Award for Services to the Public 2006; the Sikh Woman of Distinction by the Sikh Women’s Alliance in 2006; Administration Achievements Award by the India Pakistan International Foundation in 2007 and the Vasakhi On The Square Celebrations at Trafalgar Square by the Mayor of London in 2007.

She has also been recognised by the Queen at an event at Buckingham Palace and was awarded a Gold Medal for my Services to the Multi Faith Communities by His Holiness the Pope after a personal introduction in September 2010.
