A YOUTH theatre is gearing up to perform on a world-famous stage after winning a prestigious competition.

The Churchill's Youth Theatre will perform Heartbreak Beautiful on July 7 at the Olivier in the National Theatre after winning the New Connections project.

The Bromley teenagers, one of only 12 groups, were selected to perform at the South Bank venue out of a total of 200 entries.

New Connections initiative, run by the National Theatre, gives teenagers aged 14 to 18 the chance to perform new work on professional stages.

They have already performed their show at The Churchill in March and at Hampstead Theatre in April.

Heartbreak Beautiful will be performed at the Olivier for one night only on July 7 at 8pm, for more information go to www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/47434/new-connections/ national-theatre-festival. html
