THE murder trial of a teenager stabbed to death during a fight was due to start today (Wednesday May 28).

Unemployed Royston Thomas, 18, of Hazel Grove, Sydenham, and Mitchell Elliot, 18, of Howerd Way, Plumstead, are both accused of killing schoolboy Ben Hitchcock, 16, in Southend Road, Beckenham, on June 23, 2007.

The pair, who have been remanded in custody since being charged in October last year, were due to appear at the Old Bailey.

Mr Hitchcock of Blean Grove, Penge, died from a stab wound to the stomach during a fight involving up to 60 youths.
