Murder investigation underway after suspected stabbing in Downham

A murder investigation has been launched following a fight in Downham.

Police were called to Coniston Road at around 8.55pm yesterday.

They found the victim suffering from what is believed to be stabbing injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.45pm.

His next of kin have been notified and officers are waiting for formal identification.

A post-mortem examination will take place in the next few days.

Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.
