AN ITALIAN accused of stabbing his girlfriend to death and seriously injuring a 10-year-old boy appeared at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

Alessandro Selvaggi, 24, of Redmans Court, London Lane, Bromley, is said to have murdered Jenya Suveri, 22, in the early hours of December 2, last year.

The 10-year-old boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, suffered knife wounds to his throat.

Charged with murder and attempted murder, Selvaggi appeared in the Old Bailey dock in front of the Common Serjeant of London, Judge Brian Barker QC, and spoke only to confirm his name during a brief hearing.

The case was adjourned for three weeks so he could have further discussions with his legal team.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear again on May 30 for a mention hearing.
