A MAN has denied stabbing a gay couple in their home and killing one of them.

David Kilcullen, 46, of The Avenue, Bickley, is said to have attacked Gerald Edwards, 59, and Chris Bevan, 56, at their home in Page Heath Villas, Bickley, on March 3. Mr Edwards died from his injuries and his long-term partner suffered multiple stab wounds in the attack.

Mr Bevan, a nurse, remains in hospital three months after the attack. He is being treated for severe internal injuries, but is understood to be in a stable condition.

Kilcullen appeared at the Old Bailey on Monday via video link and denied charges of murder and attempted murder.

Judge Martin Stephens QC set a trial for August 10 this year and remanded him in custody.
