AN ACTRESS has won a role in a new British comedy.
Mother-of-two Sue Parker-Nutley, 57, of Melody Road, Biggin Hill, secured the part in The Flirting Club after auditioning through a website set up to choose the cast.
The film, set to hit UK cinemas later this year, will be shot by the Academy Award nominated director, Alex Jovy.
Ms Parker-Nutley, said: "I am so excited about the role and really looking forward to the start of filming. Rehearsals have begun and it looks like being a very funny film.
"I'm absolutely ecstatic that I got the part. Although I have been a stage actress for 20 years, this is my first film so I have been learning a lot.
"I am getting on very well with everyone. Alex Jovy is excellent. I am the oldest woman in the cast, there are a lot of young people but everyone is very pleasant."
To land the role, Mrs Parker-Nutley had to download the script, choose the character she wanted to play and attend a filmed audition.
She will play the part of the lead man Jamie's mum who has remarried and returned to England from Australia.
Hoping the film will be her big break, she believes its launch will change the lives of all its actors.
The actress said: "We're all fairly new actors, some have travelled from as far as Australia and Holland to be in this ground breaking movie and I just hope I'll be one of the people whose performance stands out. I am really looking forward to it.
