Mugger steals £1,500 and bank cards from pensioner in Beckenham

A 72-year-old woman was attacked by a man who stole £1,500 in cash and her bankcards in Beckenham last week.

The victim was walking through the alley that leads from Eden Park station to Oakfield Gardens having just got off a train, when she was grabbed from behind at around 11pm on Monday, December 16.

She was pulled to the floor before the attacker opened her bag and took her purse.

The suspect is described as being a light skinned black youth, aged between 16 and 20, and of medium build. He was wearing a navy blue hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The woman was taken to Princess Royal University Hospital, in Farnborough Common, where she was treated for a head injury. There have been no arrests.
