The Orpington MP visited Bromley Indoor Bowls Centre

Orpington MP Jo Johnson tried his hand at bowls when he visited the Bromley Indoor Bowls Centre last Friday (June 10).

After discussing the centre’s development and plans for the future with the committee, he played a number of ends with members on both the indoor and outdoor surfaces.

The club has flourished since it was founded in 1997 and now has 650 members of all ages, gender and ability.

Mr Johnson said: “Bromley Indoor Bowls Centre is a fantastic community facility which plays an important role in helping many older people continue to enjoy sport and stay active long into retirement.

“It was a pleasure to meet some of the club’s members and great to have a go - I would encourage residents of all ages to come along to the club and get involved.”
