Motorcyclist dies in Beckenham crash sparking police appeal for witnesses

A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a car in Beckenham.

Patrolling police were flagged down after the crash in Village Way, near the junction with Uplands at around 9.50pm on Friday night.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “Despite extensive efforts, the patient died at the scene.”

The rider has been revealed as a 30-year-old man, but Scotland Yard is yet to reveal his name as they await formal identification.

As of Saturday morning, the man’s next of kin had been informed, with a post mortem examination expected to be arranged “in due course”.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses to the crash.

A spokesperson from Met Police said: “Officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating.
