Police are growing ‘increasingly concerned’ for the safety of Maria Santos-Gouveia, a 69-year-old woman who has been missing from a residential care home in Upper Norwood.

Mrs Santos-Gouveia was last seen at around 7.45am on Sunday November 27 at the home in Eversley Road.

There have been unconfirmed sightings of Mrs Santos-Gouveia in the Crystal Palace Triangle area, and near to Anerley Station, in Anerley Road.

She is white, around 5ft 3ins, of medium build with short dark/greying hair.

She was wearing a black and white checked nightdress, brown jacket and black shoes. She also wears glasses with thick, clear frames.

Mrs Santos-Gouveia suffers from a number of medical issues, including diabetes, and, although she understands English, she may speak Portuguese.

Detective Sergeant Tim Hammond from Croydon CID said: “We think Mrs Santos-Gouveia may have made her way towards the Crystal Palace or Anerley area, so would urge anybody in that area to keep their eyes peeled or to contact us if they remember seeing her at all.”

Anyone with information can call officers at Croydon police station on 0208 649 0258 or the National Missing Persons Helpline on 0500 700 700.
