A 60-year-old man who was struck by a shopping trolley pushed by a woman during the Christmas shopping period at The Glades in Bromley has died.

Michael Buckley, from Forest Hill, fell to the floor after being hit on December 22 last year, breaking his hip and wrist.

He was taken to the Princess Royal in Farnborough where he remained until he died on Tuesday.

The cause of death is under investigation.

Police were called to Marks and Spencer at 1pm following reports of a man injured during an altercation.

Mr Buckley was taken by ambulance to the hospital but four days later police were informed that he had suffered further health complications and that he was now in a critical condition.

Officers subsequently arrested a 30-year-old woman on December 26, on suspicion of GBH. She has been bailed to return on March 26, pending further investigation.
