Michael Ball’s special message to Chislehurst care home resident

Bupa Elmstead care home has granted the wish of one of its residents by getting in touch with Michael Ball, who paid a virtual visit to the 87-year-old.

When Pat told staff at the home in Elmstead Lane, Chilsehurst, that her wish was to meet Michael Ball, administrator Sally Anne-Taylor got to work trying to make that happen.

After relentlessly researching how to get in touch with the star, she finally heard back via his show on BBC Radio 2.

Michael was rehearsing for Chess the Musical, which opened last week in London’s West End, so sadly he couldn’t make it to Elmstead to visit Pat in person.

Despite Michael’s schedule, staff at the home were able to surprise Pat with a short video made especially for her by the singer himself.

Additionally, the lucky lady received a signed copy of Michael’s album.

Pat loves listening to the album, and was over the moon with her personal video message from Michael.

Her delighted reaction was filmed by staff at the home.

Home manager Emma Staples said: “We always try to go the extra mile for our residents, and we are so happy that Pat was able to have this experience.

“I’m very proud of my amazing staff here at Bupa who work so hard to give our residents these special moments.”
