A TOURING exhibition of Michael Jackson's personal memorabilia will open in the capital in the autumn.
AEG Live's exhibition division have struck an agreement with the administrators of the pop star's estate to develop the exhibition of personal items from his career, which is due to open at the O2, Greenwich Peninsula.
Jackson, who would have been 51 this Saturday, died of a suspected heart attack on June 25, days before he was due to move to Chislehurst to prepare for his 50 concert dates at the O2.
The co-special administrators of Jackson's estate, John Branca and John McClain, said: "In putting together this project, selecting an exhibition company to entrust with carrying on Michael's legacy with dignity and respect was of the utmost importance to us."
President of Arts and Exhibitions International, John Norman, said: "This will be one of the most momentous projects in our history because Michael Jackson meant so much to so many. We are honoured to have a role in celebrating Michael Jackson's artistry and the place he holds in our hearts.
"As we begin to develop the exhibition, we recognise that we carry a considerable responsibility to Michael Jackson's family and fans in helping his legacy live on. We will work with those close to him to develop a meaningful experience that reflects his immeasurable talent and spirit."
Further details and venues will be announced in coming months.
