THE Mayor of London has announced the expansion of his scheme to put Community Support Officers on buses.

Boris Johnson was in Bexleyheath on October 8 to announce the extension of his pilot scheme to put more policing teams on buses.

From January next year the police transport teams will go into 27 more

areas, including Bromley town centre, Bromley North Station, Bexleyheath Broadway, Crystal Palace, Woolwich

Arsenal Greenwich and Lewisham Bus Station.

Each team is made up of one Sergeant, one Police Constable and seven PCSOs.

This follows the pilot scheme in West Croydon, Wood Green, and Canning Town which was launched in May.
