A TRIAL date has been set for a teenage girl charged with the manslaughter of a waiter. The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the Old Bailey last Friday, accused of causing the death of Lee Waite, 21, from Bromley. Mr Waite's Mini Cooper, carrying seven people, was travelling along Southborough Lane's junction with Oxhawth Crescent, Petts Wood on February 10 this year when it crashed. It is alleged that the girl, a front seat passenger in the car, grabbed the steering wheel and caused the vehicle to smash into a tree and kill Mr Waite.

She will stand trial at the Old Bailey on May 5.
