Man killed by train near Penge East station

A man was killed last night after being hit by a train near Penge East station.

The incident was reported to British Transport Police (BTP) at around 8pm and Met officers were joined by medics from London Ambulance Service at the site.

The man, believed to be 35-years-old and from Bromley, was declared dead at the scene. The death is being treat as non-suspicious.

Network Rail were able to run services on the line at around 9pm.
