Man killed by train in Dunton Green ‘from Bromley and in his 50s’

The man who was hit by a train in Dunton Green yesterday was from Bromley, police say.

He has not yet been named but British Transport Police said he was in his 50s and from the Bromley area.

The man died after being struck by a train near Dunton Green station shortly before 3pm on Wednesday.

Paramedics attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

“His family have been informed.”

Buses replaced trains between Orpington and Sevenoaks while emergency services dealt with the incident.

There were delays and cancellations to services from Cannon Street and Charing Cross.
