Man hit and killed by bus

A 61-year-old man who was killed after being hit by a bus has been named.

Patrick Kelly, of Garthorne Road, Forest Hill, suffered head injuries when he was hit by the 119 double-decker bus on Wickham Court Road at the junction with High Street at 7am on

October 13.

He was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, but died the morning after.

A post mortem on October 15 confirmed the cause of death as head injuries. An inquest will open and adjourn in due course.

Sergeant Paul Sanders, who is leading the investigation, said: "We have yet to establish whether or not there was contact between the bus and the man who died so I'm keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident."

Nobody has been arrested. A spokesperson for bus company Metrobus said: "We are working with the police to ascertain what happened. Our driver has not been arrested or suspended.

"We are waiting for the results of the police investigation."
