Man flown to hospital after being hit by train in West Wickham

The incident caused delays on the rails yesterday afternoon, with the line between Elmers End and Hayes being temporarily blocked

A man in his 40s was airlifted to hospital yesterday after being hit by a train in West Wickham.

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3.57pm to reports of a person under a train at West Wickham station.

“The air ambulance were also in attendance and he was flown to Royal London Hospital.”

The man’s current condition is not known.
