Man dies after being hit by train at Penge East station

A man has died after being hit by a train at Penge East station this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene, in Station Road, at around 10.20am after receiving reports of a man being hit by a commuter train.

Ambulance crews were joined by London’s Air Ambulance, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Services to the station were suspended for around five hours until 3.20pm.

Southeastern commuters suffered hour-long delays as a result of the collision.
