A magical garden, inflatable bowling alley and storytellers filled a busy Bromley town centre during a day of activities on Sunday.

The events, in Bromley High Street Garden, aimed to showcase what the town centre has to offer and plans for future projects were available for residents to view throughout the weekend.

Lorraine McQuillan, Bromley town centre manager, said: “Bromley town centre was given a real boost as residents and visitors of all ages turned out in their hundreds to enjoy the huge array of events in the sunshine.

“It was wonderful to see people using the inflatable bowling alley, taking in the live performances and parades on our fantastic lawn, all while doing their Sunday shopping.”

Highlights of the day included face painting, magic, games, balloon modelling and storytelling. Other activities included music and dance performances, martial arts displays, mini golf and a Pimms hut.

The High Street Garden is part of a range of initiatives set up to enhance the town centre, and is supported by a £2million investment from the Mayor of London’s Outer London Fund.
