THE Duke of Gloucester visited the former home of Napoleon III to raise awareness of London's heritage in the run up to the Olympic Games 2012.

Last Wednesday, the queen's first cousin, 19th in line for the throne, went to Camden Place, in Camden Park Road, Chislehurst, home to the exiled Emperor Napoleon III, the Empress Eugenie and the Prince Imperial, who was killed in the Zulu Wars in 1879.

The duke is a patron of The Heritage of London Trust, which has helped towards the restoration of large oil paintings in the Saloon.
